We often play a number of mixed games whose rules and procedures are not covered within Robert's rules. Procedures and rules for these games are covered as best as possible here. Situations may arise which are not covered here; any such situations shall be ruled in as close alignment with these rules as possible while taking into account the spirit of fairness. For general cash-game rules see here.
Pot-Limit Texoma (SOHE)
Played with blinds, or as a bomb-pot with antes
pot-limit
split-pot
Maximum 7 players
Procedure:
Each player receives 6 cards from the dealer
Prior to dealing the flop, each player shall separate their cards into a 4-card omaha hand, and a 2-card holdem hand
holdem hand should sit to the right of the omaha hand.
Once the players are satisfied with their selections, they should cap their hands with chips or protectors
Once everyone's chips are capped, the dealer shall rap the table and begin dealing a 3-card flop. Once the flop has been dealt, any of the following actions will fowl a player's hand
uncapping both hands at the same time (except when the player is all-in)
moving cards between hands
allowing the two hands to touch
From this point, action proceeds normally according to pot-limit Omaha rules
At showdown, holdem hands are shown first to determine a winner, followed by omaha hands. The pot is split between the winner of the holdem and winner of the omaha hand
any extra chip goes to the winner of the holdem hand
Pot-Limit Drawmaha
Played with blinds, or as a bomb-pot with antes
pot-limit
split-pot
Maximum 7 players
With 6 or fewer players, a maximum of 3 cards may be drawn
with 7 players, a maximum of 2 cards may be drawn
Procedure:
Each player receives 5 cards from the dealer
Action proceeds per normal Pot-Limit Omaha rules until the end of the first flop betting round.
After the flop betting round
Each player, in turn, shall declare the number of cards they would like to draw, and place their discards in front of them
The dealer shall burn a card, then deal each player their discards simultaneously, in turn
Once all the players have been dealt their draws, the dealer shall deal the turn card without burning an additional card.
Once the players are satisfied with their selections, they should cap their hands with chips or protectors
From this point, action proceeds normally according to pot-limit Omaha rules
At showdown, the pot is split between the winner of the best omaha hand, and the best 5-card draw hand
any extra chip goes to the winner of the omaha hand
Irregularities:
After all players have announced their discards, if the dealer determines that there will not be enough cards in the stub to provide all players with their draws and deal the turn and river, the following will occur
The dealer shall burn a card, then scramble the remaining stub cards together with all the cards from the muck (excluding burn cards and discards), then begin dealing draws from the newly constructed stub without burning an additional card.
If there are no cards in the muck, or the additional cards in the muck would not provide enough additional cards to complete the hand, then the stub shall instead be scrambled with the discards and any cards in the muck.
Pot-Limit Congress/Big-O/5-Card PLO
Played with blinds, or as a bomb-pot with antes
pot-limit
Typically hi-lo, but can be played hi-only.
Maximum 9 players
If there are 9 players, there will be no burn card before the river
Rules are the same as PLO/PLO-8, except players receive 5 instead of 4 cards
Irregularities:
In the event there are 9 players, and the river is dealt before all players have acted
The dealer shall inform the table of the following procedure for early river card
Players will complete all remaining action on the turn
A card shall be selected from the exposed river and burn cards to be the new river card as follows:
The first player left of dealer (or button if there is no dedicated dealer) who is not in the hand shall turn their back to the table
If all players are still in the hand, the first player left of the dealer will perform this task instead
While the player's back is turned, the dealer will scramble the 2 burn cards with the exposed river, then spread them out, face down, left to right, on the table.
Back still turned, the player will call out a number from 1 to 3. The card identified by this number, left to right, will be chosen as the river card
With the new river card selected and dealt, play resumes normally.
